ALT AND ADD – HOUSE & LEISURE
One of our alteration and addition projects in the pages of HOUSE & LEISURE // BEFORE & AFTER – See RENOVATION #4 on page 42.
This project sought to convert an old Cape Town heritage cottage into a modern family home. From the outset it was agreed that the original cottage should be converted to accommodate bedrooms, including a comfortable main bedroom with adjacent open plan bathroom and dressing area. And the previously altered rear of the property became the focus for new living spaces. The new open plan kitchen, dining, lounge & study are arranged in an L-shape around a north facing courtyard with a pool, to take advantage of natural light and courtyard views. The client’s personal touch in styling the interior and landscaping the external gardens completes the composition.
