Client and photographer Marsel van Oosten’s awe-inspiring portrait of two golden snub-nosed monkey’s, has been awarded the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018.

“It is a symbolic reminder of the beauty of nature and how impoverished we are becoming as nature is diminished,” said Roz Kidman Cox, judging panel chairperson.

The temperate forest of China’s Qinling mountains is the only habitat for these endangered primates and in order for Marsel to show off both a male’s beautiful pelage and striking blue face, he had to shoot at an angle from the back. Many days of observation allowed him to achieve this goal.

Congratulations Marsel, we are proud to have worked with you and look forward to future achievements. We hope your new home helps 🙂
